Festivals
and celebrations have always played an important role in the life of
Bangladeshis. These festivals are parties and correspondence of Bengali culture
and tradition. There are festivals that are identical to other countries, and
there are also some that are unusual for others.
Here
is the list of interesting festivals that are celebrated in Bangladesh:

Pahela Baishakh: It is the beginning of the Bengali New Year. It is a joyous
celebration that takes place across the country. Pahela Baishakh, which is
mid-April, is a public holiday. The celebration mainly takes place in Ramna
Park, which becomes a colorful and lively place with every celebration of
Pahela Baishkah.

Independence Day from Bangladesh: Celebrated every March 26th. It is the
largest state festival in the country. The capital of the country is the most
festive during Bangladeshi Independence Day. Bangladeshis wake up early in the
morning and fire successful firearms and firecrackers to commemorate the day.

The day is very important for the people of Bangladesh. The country is
conducting a mourning process that begins in Dhaka at midnight by singing the
song "Amar vaier raktay rangano ekushay febrero" (February 21, day
stained with the blood of my brothers). The Bangladeshi people respect martyrs
by laying wreaths on the Shahid Minar.

Eid-e-Miladunnabi: This celebration commemorates the birth and death of Eid-e-Miladunnabi,
who was born and died on the same day as the 12th Rabiul Awal in the lunar
month. Eid-e-Miladunnabi is a national holiday on which the national flags are
placed in front of all houses and institutions in Bangladesh. Special meals are
served in orphanages, hospitals and prisons during the celebration of
Eid-e-Miladunnabi.

Eid-ul-Azha - a holiday in Bangladesh that is considered the second largest
festival for Muslims. It is celebrated in honor of "Hajj" in Mecca on
the 10th Zilhaj during the lunar month. Worship ceremonies are held throughout
the country on this day. The flora and fauna is offered in honor of Hazrat
Ibrahim's vigilance for the supreme sacrifice of his beloved son to Allah.

Christmas: It is also celebrated in Bangladesh, popularly known as "Bara
Din", which means big day. It is celebrated with a show in Dhaka and other
parts of the country. It is a multi-day meeting that takes place at St. Mary's
Cathedral in Ramna, the Portuguese Church in Tejgaon, the Bangladeshi (Protestant)
Church in Johnson Road and the Bangladeshi Baptist Sangha in Sadarghat Dhaka.
The churches are illuminated with decorative Christmas trees.
These
